Tensile
Tensile loads are applied on the same axis of the bolt installation. A Safety Factor of 4:1 is recommended for all static loads. Where vibration occurs, the high safety factors should be increased as high as 10:1.


Shear
A load applied at 90° or perpendicular to the axis of the bolt


Combined Loading
Anchors loaded in tension and shear simultaneously will have ultimate capacities lower than an anchor loaded in tension or shear separately. Combined loads should be calculated on a straight-line interaction diagram of pure shear (S) and pure tension (T).
