Friction Anchors
This type anchor achieves its holding power by creating a friction force between the anchor and the base material. Ex: Concrete screws, Walldriller.
Clamping Anchors
Clamping type anchors are used in hollow wall base materials. Resistance to load is achieved by clamping the fixture to be fastened to the base material.
Toggle bolt, DrillerToggle, Hollow Wall Anchors.
Compression Anchors
Anchors of this type are designed with an expansion mechanism that compresses against the base material. The compression of the mechanism against the wall of
the drilled hole allows the anchor to transfer the load to the base material. Compression anchors can be torque or deformation controlled.
Torque Controlled
Such as the Wedge, Sleeve anchors, Single and Double Expansion Shields.
Peformation Controlled
Such as drop-in and split bolt.
Type of Anchor Loading
Static - Non moving constant force applied such as flush mounted signs, electrical boxes, etc.
Variable - Irregular loading such as suspended signs and handrails.
Vibratory - High frequency impact of low intensity such as compressors and motors.
Dynamic - Intense or sharply applied impact such as dock bumpers and guard rails.
